Nesting info

If a community member is found to be harassing any staff of TOJ, either in-game, in tickets or DMs about nesting, their nesting privileges will be taken away.

Nesting is an exciting way to fully immerse yourself in our realism experience on the server. We have a set of basic rules that apply to all nests, but we also give nesting parents the freedom to tailor their nesting experience by incorporating additional rules or survival elements that will enhance the nesting group's experience during this special time!

Examples of rules and elements our players have started to use in their nests:

Silent nesting: no communication through chat or VC, only through the dinosaurs’ calls and emotes.
↪ Sibling fights until 50% health to ensure the safety of the babies.
Nesting’s can turn into a possible herd if the nest is big enough!

All nesting must be handled in the #🥚│nesting channel in our Discord server.
You must include what species you are nesting as and make an announcement by following the format posted in the channel.
Once you have created your nesting announcement, you must create a thread for it.
Inside the thread, you can use our /nest command.

Nesting command in our Discord:

Once you have used our /nest command in the thread the nesting role will be pinged.
» Another player can pick to be either the male or the female depending on what
gender the nest creator picked.
» Players will be able to click a button to become a hatchling.
» The players who chose to be nested in will have their growth reset to hatchling.
» If the creator of the nest accepts the request, the second parent and the hatchlings will be teleported to the creator of the nest.

Admin+ made nests:

╸You can ask to have a nest built for you by using our ticket system.
╸Make sure to open the ticket at least 24 hours before your nesting is supposed to happen and follow the format inside the ticket.
Depending on Admin+ availability, you might not be able to have a nest built for you, then you would need to claim a “natural occurrence” as a nest.
╸No berry bushes, fresh water or corpses will be provided.

Overall rules for nesting:

╸Need to be 2 adults in the group that are the “parents”.
╸On server 1, there is no max limit for babies.
╸On server 2, the offspring specified in the species profiles are per pair.
╸You can only nest your own species.
╸Be at the nest location before you confirm the nest.
╸Players can claim a natural occurrence on the map that they want to represent as their nest.

The “natural occurrences” can be for example:
╸Quest item clusters; A pine cone pile, root pile or an anthill.
╸You can not stop other dinos from doing the quests.
╸If you are turning in your quest at someone’s nest, let them know in global or with a 2 call.

If group limits are reached, when an adolescent group member reaches sub-adult,
they need to either:

╸Be kicked from the group.
╸Fight for a place in the group, should not end in death.
╸When the nesting group leaves the nest and the area, it is considered abandoned.
╸Then other species are available to claim it.
╸If a baby can not behave, they can be exiled out of the group by the parents.
Examples of not behaving is: Excessive biting, ruining hunts, killing group members.
╸The group is not allowed to hunt the baby that they exile for the next 20 minutes.
╸Players are allowed to set some extra rules for their own nests, these rules need to be clearly stated in their nesting announcement.
