Behavior

Suchomimus are adaptable creatures, with their personalities differing from if they spend most of their time on land or in the water. Terrestrial Suchomimus prefer staying by rivers, smaller bodies of water and spend most of their time hunting on land, using bushes and boulders rather than lily pads for stealth. They seem to be a little faster than their aquatic companions. They will still venture into the water to get away or even hunt fish, but they get out of their way to hunt down unsuspecting land creatures. Aquatic Suchomimus spend most of their time in water, and they travel faster than their land relatives. However, a majority of these migrations are done in water, and are extremely clumsy and slow on land. A pack is typically made up of one male and two females, but can vary. They are highly social creatures and while they will not aid another group they show no aggression towards each other.

Recommended behaviors

╸Land adapted Suchomimus often hang around the waters edge in case they need an extra escape route if hunted. They do not stay in water for too long.
╸More water adapted Suchomimus often have their colors ranging from grayish to blue tones to blend in their watery environments better.
╸Bulkier built Suchomimus prefer to hide in rivers and ambush their prey.
╸Smaller Suchomimus can be found on land, using their nimble build to their advantage when chasing prey.
╸Suchomimus tolerates Concavenator mainly due to the amount of energy it would take to get rid of them.

Mating

During courtship, a male will bring a female a gift, sitting it at her feet. The gift can be either a shell, fish, rocks, clams or even a simple stick. He will continue to bring her gifts until she either accepts him or chases him off. Once she accepts him by picking up her favorite gift, the two will split off from the third pack member for a short period to pursue their bond. After which they part ways, either going back to their pack or their own packs, with the female taking the young.

Nesting & offspring

The entire pack raises the hatchlings, protecting and defending them with their life. They are rather affectionate and patient towards not only each other but the young. A pack will find a place safe enough to raise the hatchlings, teaching the young how to hunt and fish. Suchomimus hatchlings are vocal, they love to chatter, play and splash in the water. They are up until sub-adult very childish. Suchomimus are also one of the very few carnivores that will adopt young, raising them alongside their own clutches or by themselves.
