Behaviors in nature
The oppressive Hatzegopteryx is the heaviest Azhdarchid in the sky, this massive creature sails through the clouds constantly searching for prey to sate its hunger. Hatzegopteryx can be found in any place, from lush grasslands to arid deserts or remote islands. Hatzegopteryx are profusely aggressive, which is in stark contrast to the Quetzalcoatlus – so far does their distaste reach that Hatzegopteryx can be seen maliciously staring at prey within visual range. Hatzegopteryx are very prone to violence, to the point where it seems these huge flying menaces seek out conflict, to the point of death for some of them.
Social behavior
Hatzegopteryx are very assertive species, making loud displays when they've claimed a territory for the simple reason of intimidating its inhabitants. While females have been seen to pair up when young, two males will rarely ally themselves together even for food, opting instead to battle one another for dominance over the area. The most common form of pairing for Hatzegopteryx is a mateship, which will last a lifetime even in the event of one of the pairs death as they won't take another mate. The general mannerisms of the Hatzegopteryx pair is extremely similar to a lone member of this species, with no discernible changes from the regular bad attitude.
Recommended behaviors
╸Will kill any hatchling-adolescent dinosaurs they see when hungry.
╸Extremely territorial, chasing anything that gets too close.
╸Hatzegopteryx watch fights happen, and in turn will contest for the corpse.
Courtship
As the mating season begins, all solo Hatzegopteryx will take to the skies, going out to sea. The large pterosaurs will go to larger islands dotting the coast in massive droves, where the females will gather together, awaiting fierce males. Within the skies, the males will fight for dominance using intimidation calls & powerful pecks to force their rivals to retreat. When a female is impressed enough by a victorious male she will take to the skies, flying up to meet whom she has decided will become her mate. The pair will then spend the remainder of the mating season together on the island before leaving to go back to the mainland, for the purpose of creating a nest.
Nesting & offspring
Hatzegopteryx choose to build their nests high above the ground, either on the peaks of rocky mountains or blistering desert plateaus. These nests are created together with both of them delivering large bones and roots to the best sight which will be assembled into perfection for their young. The female then lays and incubates the eggs while the male carries small animals back for her to consume during this time. Once the hatchlings break out of the eggs, the parents will undertake the task of hunting to feed their offspring. During the early stages, Hatzegopteryx have only one goal, to become stronger than their siblings. Oftentimes, they will be seen bullying one another over food, or even just over the attention of their parents, making them seem extremely jealous of one another.
