Behavior
Their aggressive behavior is often unpredictable, making it difficult to truly get a handle on the species as a whole. With such a wide range of personalities their pack complexity is mercurial at best. Fighting seems to be ingrained within them from birth, making them nearly as aggressive as a tiger shark at times. Most hatchlings are born hostile and far too often siblings will turn on each other and kill the weakest.
Recommended behaviors
╸Adolescent and subadult members of the pack will often spar to practice their fighting skills, these spars never lead to deaths in the pack.
╸Prefer to hunt in open and high visibility areas where long chases may endure.
╸Allosaurus will not tolerate Daspletosaurus in the same area.
Mating
Unlike many of the other creatures on the Island, Allosaurus females turn the mating season into a bloodbath. A prospective mate will slowly walk around her, displaying his size, battle scars, and physical prowess. Once she is interested the female will attack him, triggering a brutal and often very bloody courtship. For two or three days the pair will fight, each leaving the ground soaked with their blood. Because Allosaurus are monogamous, they are dedicated to making sure they pick the right mate. Typically on the third day while still bloody and exhausted the two will mate. For a week they will spend most of their time cuddling, cooing to one another, and bonding. At this time males will not allow any other male to get near their mate. This is thought to strengthen the bond.
Nesting & offspring
Female Allosaurus prefer to find a secluded place to nest and raise their offspring to juvenile before introducing them to the pack. While nesting and raising juveniles, females are extremely territorial and aggressive, occasionally even to her partner. The mated pair will chase off any other creature that gets within eyesight. Once their offspring are introduced to the pack everyone within the pack becomes highly aggressive to outsiders. They have been known to kill wandering lost juveniles.
